FTG Aerospace to Develop New Aircraft Cockpit Power Supply

Toronto, September 22 – Firan Technology Group Corporation today announced its Aerospace Division has entered into an agreement with Bell Helicopter Textron on the development, design and manufacture of programmable power supplies. The Letter of Intent identifies the selection of FTG”s Lighting Power Supply (LPS) for use on the new Bell 429 platform.

FTG Aerospace responded to the growing demands of their customer base by moving up the value chain; launching into programmable power supplies. “We recognized in our discussions with various OEM”s that the method of balancing illuminated cockpit panels in an aircraft was dated,” said Peter Dimopoulos, Sales Manager. “Our customers identified that current methods used in this application were less than ideal. We are extremely pleased to be working with a premiere OEM in the launch of our new product.”

The Lighting Power Supply is designed to be programmable and have dimming functions for each of the outputs. Airframe manufacturers who install illuminated panels will now be able to program and/or pre-select specific dimming tables for each of their panels. These dimming tables would be separately adjusted to allow for balancing of the cockpit panels. This product greatly reduces the time and cost for aircraft manufacturers to complete the integration of an aircraft cockpit.
